My PD is Dec 2004 EB2 for a future jon offer. I won't be able to start the job until July 2008 as I am still completing my fellowship. I have read somewhere in the past that I can file I485 for this future job as the dates have now become current. Can anyone confirm this and any idea what is the general recommendation for the duration that I have to stay with this employer once I start the job.
Minimum 6 month is considered a safe period.

I have applied for my extension of H1B at Vermont Center. my first three years on H1b expired on Sep 8th. The application was filed on July 20th and it is normal processing. I have my H1b and H4 receipts with me, but its not yet approved. I am planning to take B1 visa appointment for my mother. Shall i send my mother to B1 stamping with H1B receipt.
Does Chennai consulate will accept H1b receipt for Visitor Visa or Shall we wait for H1b Approval? thanks in Advance....

According to a recent Newsweek article, Immigrants irrespective of their legal status are actually good for the job market, and boost the economy.
Lou Dobbs, take note: immigrants are good for our economy. The most skilled create jobs in technology and engineering, says Duke professor Vivek Wadhwa, who estimates that in 2005 immigrant-founded engineering and tech companies employed 450,000 people and generated $52 billion in sales. But even the least skilled more than repay their costs in schools and health care. Two highly respected Australian economists, Maureen Rimmer and Peter Dixon, studied the issue for the libertarian Cato Institute. "The net impact on U.S. households from tighter border enforcement is unambiguously negative," they found, because even low-skilled immigrants expand the economic pie and create jobs farther up the ladder. 1. My colleague crossed 2 years after filing 485. Frustrated with GC processes, he is switching company for better career prospects. He is using his EAD and invoking AC21. Is it possible for me to use his labor? If no, why?

If you create a new 'plane' and position it below the object as a floor, you will get a shadow. You can move the light sources about to get the right shadow.

My employer let me signed 3 contracts. First was for the year 2006 then two for 2007. They said they just changed a few things but it is the same. The previous two contracts said if ever employment is terminated prior to an agreed date, reimbursement to the employer will be pro-rated. The 3rd contract was changed to reimbursing the employer the full amount of the contract which means H1B fees, recruitment fees, sign-on bonus and reimbursement. I was not aware that they've changed the reimbursement because I did not read the third contract anymore because they said it's the same.
Is it legal for the employer to charge the H1B employee the H1B fees, recruitment fee, sign-on bonus and reimbursements? I applied directly to my employer but they hired a recruiter and was just made aware of the huge amount after working for 3mos with them. They never gave me a copy of the total amount of my contract until I asked for it.
They filed for my I-140. It was already approved and just waiting for the I-485 to be filed.

In my case i am a consultant, and keep on moving like 8-9 months....... dont have any permanent address.............. i am sure a lot of ppl will be in the same position as i am............. so what are you guys doing for the addresses on the 485/EAD/AP..........
